Tattoos are a lifetime investment and should therefore be chosen wisely. Fortunately, the inner bicep is a little easier to hide when compared to some areas. If you regret your tattoo later you can cover it up easily or at least make it less noticeable. The inner bicep is a large enough canvas to be creative, ranging from serious to even humorous images that change shapes when flexing.
Lifetime Meaning
As with any tattoo, regardless of the area on the body, it's best to choose a tattoo that has significance. This should be something that stands the test of time, such as a motorcycle symbol for the bike enthusiast or a guitar for the musician. A flag representing your home state is a good choice because its shape will fit nicely on the inner bicep.
Small Tattoo
The inner bicep is more sensitive than most areas of the body; therefore, a small tattoo is ideal for less prolonged pain. An idea for small tattoo for the inner bicep would be a sentence or a poem, since it would only require having words inscribed. Small symbols such tribal or barbed wires are also ideal for those with low pain tolerance. Choose only one or two colors to get the tattoo over as quickly as possible.
Honoring Loved Ones
A portrait tattoo is a great way to honor a loved one and will fit nicely on the bicep. Portraits of parents, children, pets and other loved ones can be inked onto the skin if you have a real portrait to supply the artist. As with any tattoo, but especially with a portrait tattoo, do your research to find the best artist possible to ensure your portrait will be true to the image.
Tattoos Not to Get
The inner bicep is not the place to put tattoos that you may one day get removed. This include a spouse or significant other's name or picture, drug paraphernalia, fad tattoos or any subject matter that may affect future employment. The removal process usually hurts more than the initial inking, especially in an area as delicate as the bicep. Take the time to pick a permanent tattoo for this area. When in doubt, have the tattoo created with a temporary ink like henna first.
