SparkPeople is an American private company which develops and maintains several healthy living websites.

This site offers a free four-stage diet program which uses tools, content, and support to help users make lifestyle changes.

Babyfit.com

SparkPeople also offers a modified version of its healthy living program to pregnant women through its site Babyfit.com. Babyfit uses similar tools and forums to SparkPeople.com to guide pregnant women through a healthy pregnancy and beyond. It also covers topics such as parenting and breastfeeding and offers some of the same social networking features as SparkPeople.

SparkRecipes.com

SparkRecipes.com offers users the ability to catalog, rate, and share recipes, especially healthy recipes, and gives users the nutritional information about their recipes. It also offers the ability to add these recipes to their daily food log on SparkPeople.

dailySpark is a healthy lifestyle blog authored daily by SparkPeople experts.

Reception

In January 2013, Consumer Reports assessed 9 DIY diet plans and rated SparkPeople with an overall score of 76, behind top scorer MyFitnessPal (83), The Paleo diet (80), and the Mediterranean diet (77).[1]

SparkPeople.com announced on February 15, 2012 that during January 2012 that there were 10 million visitors to the website, making it the most visited fitness & weight loss site on the internet. SparkPeople.com was named the winner of BusinessWeek's Best of The Web : Health in 2006,[2] 2007,[3] and 2008.[4] In January 2007, SparkPeople.com was ranked by Hitwise as the 6th most visited site in the "Health and Medical - Wellbeing" category (and 3rd among diet sites).[5]
