Creative DIY Tips & Project Ideas For Homemakers : TipNut

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do you find all your tips? I've been collecting vintage homemaking magazines, books/cookbooks and craft patterns for over 20 years, I love this stuff! The internet has given me an opportunity to compile all this information into a handy resource that anyone can review.

Are you legit or just someone seeking to be a big blog celebrity? I'm a pretty private person and don't publish photos of myself or my personal information...if I was trying to "fake it till I make it" so I can be a "celebrity", I'm doing a pretty poor job of things ;). I'm genuinely legit and am content to share tips and tricks, keeping that the sole focus here. In other words, no I am not trying to become the next Martha Stewart or Heloise or big name blogger.

How did you come up with the idea for this website? At the time I started, there really wasn't anything like it. There were a small number of craft blogs that featured projects occasionally and a few recipe blogs, but nothing that did both plus creative homemaking tips (cleaning, gardening, household, etc.). Initially I wanted a place where I could organize my collection of information but soon saw an opportunity to share all the nifty things I found online. This allows me to extend a bit of goodwill and support to other bloggers plus give readers something fun to check out...win win for everyone!

The setup here is unusual...Is this a blog or a website or what? I consider it a hybrid of both. It started out as a daily blog but over the years things got a tad messy and overwhelming. What's the use in having a site full of tips if they're scattered all over the place? I've been working for over a year now to condense the site into fewer pages so that you're viewing all the like-tips on a single page whenever possible. Give me another year to finish cleaning up and I think I'll have the most organized, visitor-friendly tips/crafty site on the web!

How many people write here? Just me, that's it. You can read more on my About page here.
