Everyone, that is, except her brother, who enlists the help of Afghanistan war vet and private eye Cormoran Strike to find the truth. There are plot twists and red herrings aplenty, plus Latin quotes, vivid descriptions and wildly original characters. In short, it's just the kind of thing a grown-up Harry Potter fan will thoroughly enjoy, especially if he - like me - keeps imagining Cormoran as Hagrid's vastly more intelligent brother.
